Coverage Pens

Determining shot peen coverage rates can be difficult when surfaces include grooves, fillets, cavities and other holes. Enter the Kings Coverage Pen!

The use of our pens in the shot peening process, verifies coverage in terms of amount and uniformity of peening. It works by indicating the degree of removal of our fluorescent tracer dye. Our Kings Coverage dye, is specially formulated to provide clear results regarding the hardness achieved during the peening process.  Our dyes are easily applied to even the smallest areas, by using our special Kings Coverage Pen.  After peening, the degree of removal of the dye is quickly measured, by examining the part with our powerful UV (Ultra Violet) light.

The Kings Coverage Pens were developed to support shot peen coverage inspections using fluorescent tracer as referenced within:  AMS-S-13165, AMS-2430, AMS-2432, ABPI-2028, D50TF9, P11TF8, PWA-6, SS-8766 and SAE-J2277.

An SDS accompanies the Certificate of Conformance which quantifies physical and chemical characteristics of the fluorescent tracer solution.
